TLDR The PCOS-specific questionnaire needs more work to fully measure quality of life in clinical trials.
The document assessed the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Questionnaire (PCOSQ) for its effectiveness in measuring the impact of PCOS on quality of life in clinical trials. The PCOSQ demonstrated acceptable reliability with coefficients between 0.70 and 0.97, and showed partial validity in certain areas. However, it had poor content validity, particularly lacking in areas concerning acne and hair loss, and its responsiveness to change was inconsistent. The document concluded that while the PCOSQ is the only PCOS-specific QoL measure available, it requires further research and development to improve its comprehensiveness and sensitivity before it can be recommended for use in clinical trials.
