A Case Series of Successful Off-label Use of Flibanserin

TLDR Flibanserin may help improve sexual symptoms in various conditions beyond its approved use.
This case series explores the off-label use of flibanserin, originally approved for hypoactive sexual desire disorder in premenopausal women, in four patients with diverse conditions. The patients included a 40-year-old male with post-orgasmic illness syndrome (POIS), a 77-year-old postmenopausal woman with hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD), a 51-year-old male with low libido, and a 26-year-old male with post-finasteride syndrome (PFS). Each patient experienced significant improvements in their symptoms after starting flibanserin. The POIS patient's symptom duration decreased from 7 days to 1 day, while the other patients saw improvements in libido, quality of life, and erectile function. These findings suggest that flibanserin may have broader pro-sexual effects beyond its current approved use.
