TLDR Men with longer-lasting hair loss eat more meat and less fish.
The study investigated lifestyle habits, including eating habits, in 347 male patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and compared the results with Korean Health Statistics. It found that AGA patients with a longer disease duration (≥60 months) had a higher intake of meat and lower intake of fish compared to those with a shorter duration (<12 months). Additionally, AGA patients consumed less beef, beans, and squid than the average Korean population. The study concluded that while it was the first to explore these lifestyle factors in AGA patients, further large-scale cohort studies are needed to establish a causal relationship between eating habits and AGA development, as well as studies on serum and hair androgen levels in relation to lifestyle habits.
