TLDR The Leniwand device, combining vibration and cold, reduces pain more effectively than vibration alone during hair transplant injections.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of a hand-held device, the Leniwand, which combines vibration and cold, in reducing pain from local anesthesia injections during hair transplant surgery, compared to a device using only vibration. Conducted on 30 male patients aged 27-51, the study found that the combination of cold and vibration significantly reduced pain for 17 participants, while 7 experienced some reduction, 5 noticed no difference, and 1 reported increased pain. The study concluded that the Leniwand is more effective in pain reduction than vibration alone, though it was limited by the selection of only male participants.
