TLDR Electrical and chemical skin stimulation can improve hair growth.
The document discusses various methods for strengthening hair growth. Historically, chemical, thermal, and electrical stimulants were used to activate hair follicles. Zuntz introduced the idea of using keratin in a dissolved form, injected into the bloodstream, to promote hair growth. Carr successfully implemented this concept by galvanizing the skin with electrodes soaked in an ammonia solution of keratin. Apol replicated Carr's method in 2 cases of young women (ages 21 and 25) with poor hair growth, achieving positive results even without keratin, suggesting that the therapeutic effect was due to the electrical and chemical stimulation of the skin rather than the keratin itself.
