TLDR ADSC injections improve hair density, thickness, and reduce inflammation in female pattern hair loss.
The study evaluated the efficacy and safety of autologous adipose-derived adult stem cell (ADSC) injections for treating female pattern hair loss (FPHL) in 33 patients. Patients were divided into 3 groups based on the severity of their condition. ADSCs were extracted from lipoaspirate and injected into the frontoparietal scalp. Clinical, trichoscopic, and immunohistochemical assessments showed significant improvements in hair thickness and count in both frontal and occipital areas by week 24. Additionally, histopathological and immunohistochemical evaluations at week 12 indicated a reduction in perifollicular inflammation and DKK-1 immunostaining. The study concluded that ADSC treatment is effective in improving hair density, thickness, and reducing inflammation in FPHL patients.
