TLDR The new sprayable wound mask helps heal wounds without scars.
The study introduces a sprayable biomimetic double mask (BDM) designed for scarless wound healing, consisting of a hydrophobic PLD top layer and a hydrophilic GelMA bottom layer. This innovative mask rapidly forms a bilayered structure that provides a moist, sterile environment, suppresses inflammation, and promotes angiogenesis. The BDM demonstrated effective hemostatic properties, antibacterial activity, and enhanced wound healing in rat and porcine models, reducing scar formation and promoting skin regeneration. The study highlights the BDM's potential for clinical application in wound care due to its biocompatibility and practical benefits for patients with extensive wounds.
