TLDR Minoxidil dissolves best in methanol and least in water.
This study measured the solubility of minoxidil in six solvents at different temperatures using a gravimetric method. The data was well-correlated using the Apelblat equation. The mole fraction solubility of minoxidil was found to decrease in the order of methanol > 1-propanol > 1-butanol > ethanol > 2-propanol > water at the same temperature. The results are important for drug discovery and preparation stages, as well as for the design of an optimized crystallization process.
