Key findings include prolonged diagnostic journeys, the emotional impact of diagnosis, and daily struggles with symptoms like pain, fatigue, and hair loss. Participants reported strained relationships, economic burdens, and insufficient support from family and healthcare providers. The study calls for improved public education, sensitivity from employers and medical professionals, and the establishment of support groups to enhance the quality of life for SLE patients in Mauritius and similar regions.
