TLDR AGA patients have lower serum vaspin levels, which might help detect the condition early.
This study investigated serum vaspin levels in 50 patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA) compared to 30 healthy controls. Results showed that AGA patients had significantly lower serum vaspin levels than the controls. There were no significant associations between vaspin levels and factors such as age, sex, smoking, BMI, disease duration, or family history. The study suggests that vaspin deficiency could potentially be used to detect AGA at an early stage, with a negative predictive value of 87.5% at a cutoff value of 2302.2 pigs/dl.
