TLDR Henna dye improves hair cuticle and thickness but effects vary by hair type and health.
This study evaluated the morphological effects of Lawsonia inermis (henna) dye on hair using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The research aimed to assess the impact of henna on hair, especially considering the damage caused by frequent use of synthetic dyes. The results indicated that henna had a positive effect on the cuticle pattern and the diameter of the hair samples. However, the degree and type of morphological changes varied depending on the hair's phenotype and health condition before treatment.
