TLDR Scalp sarcoidosis can cause hair loss and needs accurate diagnosis and treatment with specific medications.
Scalp sarcoidosis, though rare, can mimic various forms of alopecia, making accurate diagnosis crucial through trichoscopy and histopathology. Treatment typically involves corticosteroids, immunosuppressive agents, and hydroxychloroquine to halt hair loss progression. This report detailed a case of scalp sarcoidosis with systemic involvement, highlighting the diagnostic value of dermoscopy. Additionally, a literature review identified 46 cases of sarcoidosis-induced alopecia.
