Sanitary-Chemical Study of Anionites Used in the Food Industry

    The study evaluated anion exchange resins IA-1 and IA-3 for their safety and effectiveness in the food industry, particularly their potential to release impurities into water. IA-3 was found to be superior to IA-1, as it released more easily oxidizable aliphatic compounds, making it safer under controlled conditions. The release of impurities increased with temperature and contact time, with IA-1 releasing more difficult-to-oxidize aromatic compounds. The study recommended IA-3 for water preparation in the food industry, provided temperatures remain below 40°C and proper sanitary-chemical controls are maintained.
