TLDR Rosemary may help with wound healing and hair growth by increasing VEGF.
The study investigates the effects of Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) on gene expressions related to wound healing and hair loss in HaCaT cells. The research found that treatment with rosemary extract significantly upregulated VEGF gene expression by 7.45±1.87 fold, which may contribute to its beneficial effects in wound healing and hair loss. However, the downregulation of IL-1α was not significant. These findings suggest that rosemary could have therapeutic potential, but further studies are needed to fully understand its mechanisms and applications in skin disorders.
