Professor Wanchai De-Eknamkul is conducting research at Chulalongkorn University to develop a natural product for treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA) without the side effects associated with current FDA-approved drugs. His work focuses on the biosynthesis of bioactive natural products, particularly from medicinal plants, and involves identifying enzymes and genes in their biosynthetic pathways. The research includes screening for natural compounds with anti-AGA and anti-grey hair activities and developing techniques for detecting compounds with various therapeutic effects. This work aims to provide a natural and effective treatment option for AGA, potentially transforming the management of this condition.
