TLDR The new sulfur paste effectively treats rabbit scabies, promoting healing and hair growth.
The study addressed scabies in rabbits, a significant issue exacerbated by mites carried by birds. Researchers developed a new sulfur paste formulation, enhanced with vegetable extract and propolis, to provide a less aggressive and cost-effective treatment compared to commercial sarnicides. This new formulation was applied to the external ear of rabbits affected by psoroptic mange, following prior hygiene. The treatment resulted in rapid tissue regeneration, hair growth, and the elimination of secondary infections, demonstrating the effectiveness and affordability of the new sulfur paste.
