TLDR Lichen planopilaris can unusually affect only the face, causing pigmentation and scarring.
This case series examines five unique cases of lichen planopilaris (LPP) that were restricted to the face, a rare clinical presentation. The study details the clinical characteristics, dermoscopic findings, and treatment approaches for these patients, all of whom exhibited varying degrees of pigmentation and scarring alopecia on the face. Importantly, none of the patients had LPP lesions elsewhere on their bodies, highlighting the unusual nature of this presentation.
