TLDR Pazopanib treatment caused rapid hair color loss, possibly indicating its effectiveness.
A case was reported where a patient undergoing treatment with pazopanib, a multitargeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor for metastatic renal cell carcinoma, experienced rapid overnight hair and eyebrow depigmentation after only a few weeks of therapy. This was unusual as hair color change typically developed gradually over months. The researchers found no previous literature on such rapid depigmentation due to this class of drugs, making it the first reported case. They suggested that a combination of mechanisms might have caused this rapid change. Despite being a stressful side effect, the depigmentation could potentially indicate the effectiveness of pazopanib treatment.
