The study aimed to formulate and evaluate a herbal shampoo using fermented rice water, which is rich in antioxidants, particularly inositol, to reduce hair fall and promote hair growth. Traditional herbs such as Hibiscus-rosa-sinensis, Phyllanthus emblica, Aloe vera, and Trigonella foenum-graecum were incorporated in various concentrations. The shampoo was assessed for physico-chemical parameters including pH, foam formation, dirt dispersion, surface tension, viscosity, and wetting ability. Results indicated that the herbal shampoo exhibited good foam ability, effective cleansing, low surface tension, appropriate viscosity, and soothing properties, making it safe and effective for treating hair fall.
