TLDR Psychological interventions can improve the quality of life for women with PCOS.
This scoping review examined 11 clinical trials from 2010 to 2023 to evaluate the impact of psychological interventions on the quality of life (QOL) of women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The interventions studied included cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, mindfulness therapy, and yoga. The findings suggest that these psychological interventions, either alone or combined with other treatments, can improve the QOL for women with PCOS. However, the review highlights the need for more studies with minimal bias and long-term follow-up to strengthen the evidence.

A 30-year-old female with PCOS and male pattern baldness is frustrated with her endocrinologist's recommendation of only Spironolactone and minoxidil, feeling that dutasteride, finasteride, and progesterone would be more effective. Other users suggest various online sources for treatments, warn against self-medicating due to potential risks, and recommend seeking a specialized endocrinologist or considering additional treatments like Inositol, Berberine, and dermaneedling.
