TLDR PRP treatment for hair loss might improve how patients feel about their quality of life, but more research is needed to confirm its effectiveness.
The study investigates the psychological impact of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment for hair loss. PRP, a plasma enriched with platelets from the patient's own blood, is known for its potential to facilitate tissue healing and regeneration through the release of growth factors. However, the study highlights concerns about the lack of standardized protocols for PRP preparation and characterization, including platelet counts and active substance concentrations. The concentration of leukocytes and the platelet-to-leukocyte ratio in PRP are also identified as crucial factors that can affect treatment outcomes. The study concludes that further analysis is necessary to establish reliable conclusions about the applications of PRP.
