Increased Levels of Prostaglandin-Like Material in Canine Blood During Arterial Hypotension Produced by Hydralazine, Dihydralazine, and Minoxidil

    The study found that hydralazine, dihydralazine, and minoxidil increased the levels of prostaglandin-like material in the blood of dogs during arterial hypotension. The increase in prostaglandin-like material was specific to these drugs and not observed with other hypotensive agents. The study suggests that prostaglandins may be responsible for the vasodilation produced by these drugs.
