TLDR A woman with scalp lymphoma and hair loss improved with radiotherapy, highlighting the need for biopsies in similar cases.
A 55-year-old woman with a 5-year history of hair thinning and scarring alopecia on the scalp was diagnosed with primary cutaneous follicle centre cell lymphoma (PCFCCL), a condition not typically associated with alopecia. Histological and immunohistochemical analysis confirmed the diagnosis. The patient responded well to superficial radiotherapy, which led to the complete resolution of plaques and some hair regrowth. The study emphasized the importance of biopsy in scarring alopecia cases and suggested exploring newer treatments like intralesional rituximab to reduce scarring and alopecia.
