Premature greying of hair in children, while often benign, can indicate underlying health issues such as nutritional deficiencies, autoimmune disorders, or genetic factors. The lack of standardized guidelines can lead to misdiagnosis and missed treatment opportunities. This review highlights the importance of identifying reversible causes like vitamin B12, iron, vitamin D, zinc deficiencies, and hypothyroidism, which can halt or reverse greying. It offers an evidence-based approach for healthcare providers to effectively diagnose and manage this condition.
