TLDR Polysorbate 60 does not help with male pattern baldness.
A study conducted in 1985 investigated the efficacy of polysorbate 60 in treating male pattern baldness through a double-blind placebo-controlled trial involving 141 subjects. The results showed no significant difference in hair growth between those treated with polysorbate 60 and those given a glycerin placebo over 16 weeks. Despite 25% of participants perceiving new hair growth, objective measurements did not support these claims, suggesting that the placebo effect played a significant role in perceived improvements.
