TLDR Polysorbate 60 does not help with male pattern baldness.
A study conducted in 1985 investigated the efficacy of polysorbate 60 in treating male pattern baldness through a double-blind placebo-controlled trial involving 141 subjects. The results showed no significant difference in hair growth between those treated with polysorbate 60 and those given a glycerin placebo over 16 weeks. Despite 25% of participants perceiving new hair growth, objective measurements did not support these claims, suggesting that the placebo effect might have influenced their perceptions. The study concluded that polysorbate 60 was ineffective for treating male pattern baldness.
