TLDR The herbal anti-dandruff shampoo is effective, safe, and a good alternative to synthetic shampoos.
The study formulated and evaluated a polyherbal anti-dandruff shampoo using eleven plant extracts, including Amla, Shikakai, and Neem oil, to offer a safer alternative to synthetic shampoos. The shampoo demonstrated optimal physicochemical properties, such as a pH of 6.2, viscosity of 950 cP, and effective cleansing with a surface tension of 35 dyn/cm. It showed a cleaning action efficiency of 78% and remained stable over a 4-week period. The herbal formulation provides antifungal, antibacterial, and conditioning benefits without adverse effects, making it a promising alternative to synthetic anti-dandruff shampoos.
