The study evaluated the effectiveness of Pleurotus florida (White Oyster Mushroom) in managing Vitamin D deficiency. Oyster mushrooms, when exposed to sunlight or UV light, produce significant levels of Vitamin D, potentially maintaining 10 µg/100 g even after storage and cooking, which is higher than most foods and aligns with global daily recommendations. In a 3-month study involving 50 participants, the efficacy of consuming P. florida soup was assessed through blood tests measuring Vitamin D levels, indicating its potential as a dietary source for addressing Vitamin D deficiency.
