TLDR The hydrogel with neem and tridax extracts effectively treats seborrheic dermatitis.
The study evaluated a hydrogel containing azadirachta indica and tridax procumbens extracts for treating seborrheic dermatitis, focusing on their efficacy against malassezia furfur compared to market standards. Tridax procumbens was chosen for its hair growth stimulation, antifungal, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties, while azadirachta indica was selected for its insecticidal, antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory effects. The hydrogel, formulated with Carbopol for consistency, aimed to provide moisture and smoothness to alleviate dry, itchy scalp conditions. The phyto-hydrogel passed various tests, including skin irritation and stability tests, suggesting promising prospects for future investigations and herbal formulations.
