The study highlights that physicians' decisions on PCOS treatment in China are heavily influenced by the presence of clinical hyperandrogenism across various specialties, underscoring the importance of assessing hyperandrogenism in clinical practice. It suggests that the role of biochemical hyperandrogenism in PCOS treatment needs further clarification in future clinical guidelines. Additionally, there is an urgent need to align clinical practice with guidance recommendations for diagnosing and treating PCOS in China.
