The study evaluated the impact of lifestyle modifications on overweight and obese women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and found significant improvements in various health parameters. After six months of intervention, there was a notable reduction in obesity rates from 70.7% to 34.5%, and improvements in physical activity levels, with poor and mild activity decreasing from 72.4% and 82% to 29.3% and 26%, respectively. Symptoms such as moderate acne, stage III alopecia, and severe hirsutism also showed improvement. Additionally, 36.2% of participants had a positive pregnancy test post-intervention. The study concluded that lifestyle modifications, including diet and exercise, should be the first-line treatment for managing PCOS symptoms and improving fertility.
