TLDR Lifestyle changes improve reproductive function and hormonal balance in obese women with PCOS.
The study involving 60 infertile obese women with PCOS found that lifestyle modifications, including diet and exercise, significantly improved reproductive function. Participants experienced notable reductions in weight and BMI (p=0.001) and improvements in menstrual irregularities (p<0.05). Hormonal assessments showed significant changes in LH, FSH, and LH/FSH ratios (p<0.05), though total testosterone and estrone levels remained unchanged. The study concludes that weight loss through lifestyle changes positively affects reproductive function and hormonal balance in obese women with PCOS, recommending further research and educational programs for better management and early detection.
