TLDR A patient's rare benign tumor in the neck was removed successfully with proper function of the facial nerve maintained.
This case report describes a 34-year-old patient with a rare benign tumor, pilomatricoma, in the right parotid region, initially misdiagnosed as pleomorphic adenoma. The tumor was surgically removed without margins, preserving the parotid tissue and facial nerve, and the patient had a normal postoperative recovery. Histopathological examination confirmed pilomatricoma. The report highlights the importance of considering pilomatricoma in differential diagnoses of neck and parotid tumors, recommending complete surgical excision to prevent recurrence and rare malignant transformation.
