TLDR A man developed a benign tumor at his COVID-19 vaccination site, which was successfully removed with surgery.
This case report describes a 65-year-old man who developed a pilomatrixoma, a benign tumor originating from hair follicles, at the site of his COVID-19 vaccination. The mass appeared 3 months after the first dose and was surgically excised 18 months later, with no recurrence observed after 3 months. The report highlights the association between vaccination sites and pilomatrixoma, emphasizing the importance of awareness and accurate diagnosis to avoid unnecessary treatments. Ultrasound imaging and histopathological confirmation are recommended for diagnosis. This case aligns with previous findings linking pilomatrixoma to various vaccine injections.
