TLDR Both 2.5 mg and 5 mg doses of oral minoxidil are effective for hair regrowth in men with hair loss.
This double-blind randomized clinical trial compared the efficacy and safety of 2.5 mg and 5 mg doses of oral minoxidil for treating male androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The study aimed to determine the optimal initial dose, as previous research has shown low-dose oral minoxidil to be effective for AGA, but the best starting dose remains unclear. The trial is significant as it is the first head-to-head comparison of these specific doses in male AGA patients. The results of this study could provide valuable insights into the dose-dependent efficacy of oral minoxidil for hair regrowth in men with AGA.
