Oral Finasteride Improved the Quality of Life of Androgenetic Alopecia Patients
August 2011
in “Journal of Dermatology”
TLDR Finasteride helps hair loss patients' quality of life.
Oral finasteride was found to improve the quality of life (QOL) of androgenetic alopecia (AGA) patients, as assessed by the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI). However, it did not alleviate the patients' anxiety nor did its efficacy correlate with the level of reported anxiety. The study suggests that VAS and DLQI are useful for evaluating patients' QOL because of the high sensitivity of these tests.
