TLDR A young man had vision loss, hair loss, and other symptoms, but tests showed mostly normal results except for slightly high protein in spinal fluid.
A young man experienced acquired color blindness, visual loss, hair loss, a facial rash, hoarseness, and painful peripheral neuropathy, alongside confusion, short-term memory loss, vomiting, and diarrhea. His blood pressure was 150/102 mm Hg, and his pulse was 118 beats/min. Ophthalmic examination revealed decreased visual acuity and dyschromatopsia. Despite normal results from a complete blood cell count, comprehensive metabolic panel, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, and a head CT scan, a lumbar puncture indicated a mildly elevated protein level in the cerebrospinal fluid.
