Natural Products Reverse Cancer Multidrug Resistance

Multidrug resistance (MDR) is a major obstacle in effective cancer chemotherapy, but recent research highlights the potential of natural product-derived compounds to reverse this resistance. Compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, terpenoids, polyphenols, and coumarins have shown promise in modulating MDR by influencing signaling pathways and gene or protein expression. This review consolidates past achievements and recent advancements in using natural products to combat MDR, offering insights into their potential as treatments to overcome chemotherapy resistance in tumors.
