TLDR The fermented mixture, including Sasa Borealis, improves scalp health and hair strength and shine.
The study investigated the effectiveness of a natural product fermentation mixture, including Sasa Borealis, for scalp and hair care. The fermented product demonstrated superior antibacterial activity against M. canis, anti-inflammatory properties, and enhanced dermal papilla cell proliferation. When applied to hair care products, the mixture improved the tensile strength and glossiness of hair damaged by heat perm and dyeing, as confirmed by SEM imaging. The findings suggested that Sasa Borealis leaf fermented product could be a valuable raw material for cosmetics, with future research needed to explore its pharmacological mechanisms.
