TLDR Curcumin, EGCG, barringtozenol, and finasteride are effective VEGFR inhibitors.
The study explored natural molecules as potential anti-angiogenic inhibitors targeting the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR-1/FLT-1), with pazopanib as a reference drug. Hundreds of natural molecules were screened, and 15 lead molecules were analyzed for their interaction with VEGFR. The study found that curcumin, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), barringtozenol, and finasteride showed reliable interactions with VEGFR and had better pharmacokinetic parameters compared to pazopanib. Curcumin and EGCG were suggested as cancer chemopreventive agents, while barringtozenol and finasteride were identified as effective VEGFR inhibitors.
