TLDR Multi-thresholding is the best method for separating hair from skin in laser hair removal.

The study compared four methods for segmenting hair from skin in laser hair removal: multi-thresholding, binary conversion, low-pass filtering, and high-pass filtering. It concluded that the multi-thresholding method was the most effective for hair segmentation, as it clearly displayed hair patterns with minimal noise, facilitating focused hair removal without damaging the skin.
