TLDR A rare skin disorder, nevus comedonicus, can appear on one side of the body following Blaschko's lines.
Nevus comedonicus is a rare skin disorder characterized by groups of dilated follicular openings with dark keratin plugs. A 36-year-old woman presented with multiple pits on the left side of her body, following the lines of Blaschko, since age 4. Physical examination showed pitted scars and comedones, with an abscess on her back. Histopathology confirmed the diagnosis. Treatment with topical tretinoin and oral retinoids showed little improvement. This case highlighted the rare multi-dermatomal unilateral distribution of nevus comedonicus.
