TLDR Mesenchymal stem cells may help reduce melanin in UV-exposed mice.
This study investigated the effect of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) on melanin levels in male C57BL/6 mice exposed to UV radiation. The mice were divided into three groups: normal, UV, and UV+MSC. The results indicated that MSC therapy reduced melanin levels in UV-exposed mice, although the reduction was not statistically significant at a dose of 0.1 cc. Histopathological analysis confirmed the decrease in melanin levels. The study suggests that MSC could be a potential alternative strategy for preventing skin hypermelanosis in UV-exposed mice.
