Minoxidil in Severe Hypertension

    TLDR Minoxidil lowers blood pressure and causes hair growth, with some side effects.
    This document reports on a study of 16 patients with severe hypertension who were treated with minoxidil in combination with other antihypertensive drugs. Minoxidil successfully lowered blood pressure levels, and the growth of hair was noticeable in 13 patients. Side effects included slight prickling of the skin, hypertrichosis, and edema. The study concludes that minoxidil therapy is favorable and can be used as an alternative to nephrectomy and to treat graft rejection.
