    TLDR The collagen sponge with lincomycin heals tooth sockets faster and reduces infection better than iodoform gauze.
    The study investigated the microbiota of alveolar osteitis and compared the antimicrobial efficacy of a Russian drug using a hemostatic collagen sponge with lincomycin against iodoform gauze in 37 patients. The collagen sponge with lincomycin showed advantages, as it led to quicker resolution of inflammation, faster healing of the sockets, and reduced contamination by pathogenic microorganisms.
