TLDR PRP generally shows better results for hair regrowth than mesotherapy, but more research is needed.
The document compares two hair loss treatments: Mesotherapy and Platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Mesotherapy, a non-surgical method involving multiple injections of a compound mixture, has been effective in improving blood flow, nourishing skin tissue and follicles, and enhancing other treatments' effects. PRP, an autologous blood product, stimulates cell proliferation and differentiation, promoting hair regrowth. However, its effectiveness can vary due to different preparation methods and injection techniques. Several studies with participant numbers ranging from 20 to 460 have shown positive results for PRP in treating hair loss, with improvements in hair density and growth. The document also presents multiple studies comparing the efficacy of PRP and mesotherapy, with most showing significant improvement in hair density and reduction of hair loss after PRP treatment. However, a few studies found no significant improvement or effect on hair regrowth after PRP treatment. One study found mesotherapy using a dutasteride-containing preparation effective in treating female pattern hair loss (FPHL). More randomized controlled trials are needed to provide stronger scientific evidence for PRP's efficacy.
