Marking of Recipient Incisions in Hair Restoration Surgery - New Methodology for Density Symmetry

    January 2014
    Luiz Alberto
TLDR A new method using stamps improves symmetry in hair restoration surgery.
The study described a new methodology for marking recipient sites in hair restoration surgery to achieve symmetric density. It involved using stamps developed by the author to make incisions on the frontal scalp. The study tested different inks and found that stamps moistened with an alcoholic solution of 3% gentian violet, when covered with a barrier film, were effective in marking lines and dots resistant to blood and washing. This method improved incision symmetry and slot identification for follicular unit insertion, resulting in symmetric density in the frontal region.
