TLDR Combining medication and minimally invasive techniques can effectively manage Marine-Lenhart syndrome.
Marine-Lenhart syndrome (MLS) is a rare condition characterized by the coexistence of Graves' disease and hyperfunctioning adenomas. This case report details a 46-year-old female with MLS, presenting with symptoms such as neck swelling, hair loss, and hyperthyroid indicators. Treatment involved thiamazole, propranolol, and minimally invasive procedures including percutaneous ablation and intrathyroidal dexamethasone administration. The patient achieved euthyroidism and a 58% reduction in nodule size. The report highlights that while MLS is uncommon and lacks well-established diagnostic criteria, combining antithyroid medication with minimally invasive techniques can effectively manage the condition.
