Management of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Through Panchkarma Modality With Special Reference to Pittaadhkiya Vatarakta: A Case Study

Raja Singla, Dr Harish Kumar, Dr Anjali Kamboj
This case study explores the management of Systemic Lupus Erythematous (SLE), an autoimmune disorder causing chronic inflammation and affecting quality of life, through Panchkarma, an Ayurvedic treatment modality. SLE, more common in females and typically appearing during reproductive age, manifests with symptoms such as fatigue, fever, rashes, hair loss, and sensitivity to sunlight. The study draws parallels between SLE and pittaadhkiya vatarakta in Ayurveda and attempts treatment using Panchkarma procedures like Basti (patoladhi ghrita Anuvasan basti and yastimadhuadi ksheer niruh Basti).
