TLDR A woman with severe hair loss due to systemic sclerosis regrew her hair in 4 months using a combination of treatments.
A 56-year-old woman with systemic sclerosis (SSc) developed severe alopecia areata (AA), which was successfully treated with topical steroids, minoxidil, and mycophenolate mofetil, resulting in complete hair regrowth within 4 months. This case suggested a possible common pathogenesis between AA and SSc and highlighted the potential effectiveness of combined topical and systemic treatments, though spontaneous improvement could not be excluded.
