TLDR Further research is needed to understand lymph node involvement in axillary hidradenitis suppurativa.
This pilot retrospective study examined lymph node involvement in 10 patients with axillary hidradenitis suppurativa during radical surgery. Although lymphadenopathy was not clinically detected, ultrasound identified hyperplastic lymph nodes in 2 patients. Bacteriological analysis revealed colonizing bacteria in most samples, with one patient showing matching bacteria in lymph nodes, skin lesions, and fistulae. The study concluded that due to the small sample size, definitive conclusions could not be drawn, and further research with larger populations was needed to confirm these preliminary findings.
