TLDR Further research is needed to understand lymph node involvement in axillary hidradenitis suppurativa.
This pilot retrospective study investigated lymph node involvement in 10 patients with axillary hidradenitis suppurativa, analyzing clinical and microbiological aspects during radical surgery. Samples from exudate swabs, axillary lymph nodes, and fistulae were examined. In one case, bacterial cultures from lymph nodes, skin lesions, and fistulae matched. However, due to the small sample size, definitive conclusions could not be made, and further research was recommended to validate these preliminary findings.
